THE CHALLENGE
With the take-off of IoT and an increasing awareness by our customers of the relevance of latency for their use cases at Telefonica Global Solutions we were facing the challenge of providing improved Round Trip Delays (RTD) to our IoT customers while keeping the simplicity of use of our Global SIM.
THE SOLUTION
Based on our international point of presence and network we deployed three virtualized GGSN / PGW in key locations of America, Asia and Europe. The network nodes where further integrated with our Managed IoT Connectivity platform’s OCS and PCRF. Relaying on our own Data Roaming Service for connectivity towards Roaming Partners and a range of connectivity options towards end-customers we enhanced the performance of our IoT solution.

With an increasing number of IoT customers relaying on us for their traffic requiring reduced latencies the needs of our IoT solution have been covered. Moreover, the resulting solution is available for our wholesale customers in form of the Data Breakout Service.
